humyo.com Reseller Quick Start Guide

Once you have created your humyo.com reseller account, this guide will take you through the steps necessary to start selling online storage solutions under your own brand.

Configure URLs

You must configure one or more URLs (web addresses) which will be used to access your online storage site. Until this is done, there is no means to access and thus you will not be able to see your branded storage service.

You can configure a sub-domain of your company domain name (e.g. storage-product.your-company.com) or register a dedicated domain name for your online storage site (e.g. www.your-storage-product.com). In either case, the domains must be be delegated to the humyo.com DNS servers:

ns1.humyo.com
ns2.humyo.com
      	

For a dedicated domain name this will be done by the domain name registry, for a sub-domain of your company domain name, this is done by adding NS records to your company domain name's zone file. In the case of your-company.com domain, having chosen to locate your storage product at the address drive.your-company.com, in the DNS configuration files for the your-company.com domain you would add the following records:

drive          IN      NS      ns1.humyo.com.
drive          IN      NS      ns2.humyo.com.
      	

These two NS records delegate the drive.your-company.com domain to the humyo.com DNS servers. This will allow us to dynamically balance traffic across a number of geographically dispersed data-centres providing the speed and resilience of service expected by a media savvy web user.

Once you have configured your URLs as described above, notify your account manager of the URLs you have chosen and if you have configured multiple URLs, which one you consider to be your main or primary URL. When your account manager notifies you that server configuration is complete, you will be able to access your branded storage site at any of the URLs.

SSL Certificates

If you wish to offer SSL encrypted file transfers, you will need to purchase a wildcard SSL certificate for your primary URL. Upload the private and public keys to your storage space and contact your account manager to have SSL configured for your online storage site.

You must purchase a wildcard SSL certificate, a regular SSL certificate for a single domain is not adequate and there should be no password for the private key. The option to encrypt file transfers with SSL is not shown to your customers until you have an SSL certificate configured - even if you have SSL Encryption enabled for their plan.

Configure Branding

Login to the humyo.com web site using the e-mail address and password used when you opened your reseller account and click the Users tab. From the actions menu, choose 'Edit this organisation'. Here you can configure all aspects of your online storage product, including the branding and appearance of your web site, ready for when your URLs are activated.

Configure Plans

Login to the humyo.com web site using the e-mail address and password used when you opened your reseller account and click the Plans tab. Here you can define and edit the product plans you will offer to your customers.

Start Selling

Once you have configured your branding and plans and your URLs are set-up and working you can start selling. When you sell online storage accounts you can login to the humyo.com web site using the e-mail address and password used when you opened your reseller account and set them up in the Users tab. If you want to automate your account signup and order process, you can do using our API. Contact your account manager to obtain API documentation and access credentials.

Desktop Clients

Once one or more of your URLs are operational, you can visit the page http://your.reseller.url/pages/en/pc-virtual-hard-disk where you will find links to download your fully-branded desktop client software.

You can give your clients the link to the download page so that they will always be able to get the latest client software, or you can download the installers and host them on your own web site. Make sure you have configured your branding before you visit the above address so that the installers are branded with the correct company name.
